Description:

Tatar wingceltis, also known as sandalwood, is a deciduous tree native to China growing 30-45 feet tall. It is grown as an ornamental but is also harvested in China to make Xuan paper. The fall color is yellow and the handsome gray-green bark exfoliates in patches. It can either be grown as a multi-stem or single.

This tree prefers moist, well-drained loamy soil in full sun but is tolerant of most soil types including gravely and sandy ones. It is drought tolerant when established.
