Description:

Living up to its name, ‘Gebelle’s Golden Spring’ is a unique Colorado Spruce adored for its breathtaking display of glowing lemon-yellow new growth each spring that holds for 6 weeks! As temperatures warm in summer the foliage transitions to the blue-green we also love about Colorado Spruce. At maybe 12 to 14 feet tall and 8 to 10 feet wide at the base when all grown up, Gebelles Golden Spring is a striking accent tree in sunny landscape borders, home foundation plantings, and rock or conifer gardens. One of those trees that will always have you looking forward to its amazing spring color show and sure to be a conversation piece!
As with so many other conifers, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic; leading to root rot or other harmful plant diseases. So make sure to plant this one in well-drained soil. Golden Spring Spruce should have at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best spring foliage color. Once established water needs are lower when growing in the ground. In pots, soil moisture will need to be monitored more closely, especially during summer. When the top two inches of soil is dry, provide water.
